Re: ISO 5 shut down

I'm kind of surprised that Phantom Power from the console could have harmed anything here if you were using the XLR DI Output on the preamp. Exactly which model Fishman do you have? On the ISO-5, is the power LED dead as well as all outputs when the unit is plugged into a mains outlet? If it really ...

Re: GCX power up problem

John, thanks for reply. I am powering my GCX from this: https://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tracks_vm100_voltage_meter.htm I am powering my Harley Benton powerplant with 5 pedals in it, my G-Major and GCX. I have no supplied power adapter for my GCP. I could find generic one with same current supply or h...

Re: Why go passive?

The expression pedal ports are designed such that they are putting 5V across a potentiometer and reading the voltage on the wiper. This is using the potentiometer in the pedal as a Voltage Divider. An active circuit intended for audio will likely produce wild results and could potentially be unhappy...

Re: GCX power up problem

John, I am powering GCX with original power supply and GCP is powered via MIDI cable. Could it be current issue, although GCX powers itself properly? Cheers, Vlado The GCX power supply is rated high enough to power both, no problem! Have you tested this setup with a different MIDI Cable? Can you te...

Re: Help to troubleshoot buzz

You shouldn't need any isolation devices unless you are running multiple amplifiers... Guitar -> Pedalboard -> Single Amp should not need any additional devices inserted in the signal path or anything on the power feeds. About cables, I was referring to any of the audio cables really. Any cable betw...

Re: Boss ES-5 as MIDI controller for PX8?

OK so with a new controller you will still be setting the PX-8 the same way as before... Enable MIDI Program Change on MIDI Channel 1, and likely leave the Button Mode as the default Instant Access where each numbered button on PX-8 directly controls the same numbered Loop. Since you have been thru ...

Re: GCX power up problem

I have somewhat similar issue. When I turn on my GCX and GCP, GCX starts it's LEDs but my GCP is just flashing rapidly all LEDS and the screen. The only solution is to unplug MIDI cable and plug it back but that has to be done few times. Is there a procedure which one has to be turned on first? 1. ...

Re: Why go passive?

If you are referring to using a pedal on a Ground Control Pro then yes, you need a passive pedal with a potentiometer 25K or more. The FCV100 might work with when set to CV Mode, but it looks like the Tip and Ring are reversed from how they should be for the Ground Control Pro Pedal jacks. I hope th...

Re: Help to troubleshoot buzz

Ohhh now were getting somewhere! The reason you are hearing this most with these pedals is that they are your gain pedals. They are greatly amplifying the noise that is already present in the signal path. It is possible that if your amp has any higher gain settings that you might hear the same buzz ...

Re: Help to troubleshoot buzz

Sorry you are having troubles... When isolated, did each of the three problem pedals perform the same as when they were in the full chain? You mention that two of these can't be tested against a battery, but does the KOT perform the same when powered with a battery? Is the buzz affected by the volum...
