Re: GCX/GCP and Engl Savage 120

Hey John, Here is a response from Robin S. from the Engl forum about this matter. Hi Mike, ok, the amp is working and switching as it should. The light thing with the footswitch could be a problem with that specific footswitch because it is wired different to what the Savage expects. Anyway the Sava...

Re: GCX/GCP and Engl Savage 120

Hey John, My local shop seems to think that this is not an issue with the head, but with my cables and/or footswtich unit being incompatable with the Engl Savage. Apparently, he took a brand new 2 button footswich (no light) and plugged it into the head, and it worked perfectly. He then tried a 2 bu...

Re: GCX/GCP and Engl Savage 120

Hey John, It definitely has NOTHING to do with my GCX/GCP. I have all of the channels etc. working properly with the GCX/GCP now. I dropped it off at my local shop over the weekend, just waiting to hear back. I've been in contact with the shop I bought it from throughout this whole ordeal, but they ...

Re: GCX/GCP and Engl Savage 120

Hey John, Sorry it's been a while I was on vacation, but here is where we're at: There is no reason the GCX should be able to affect the volume level of the selected channel... Are you sure your volume comparison was using the same Master 1 or Master 2 setting? - Yes Does the Engl footswitch you hav...

Re: GCX/GCP and Engl Savage 120

Also, I did try different loops and swapping the cables thinking that maybe I had a bad one.

When I'm using the regular footswitch (not the GCX/GCP), I am using a normal guitar cable.

Re: GCX/GCP and Engl Savage 120

Hey John, Now I have a new issue. When the TRS cables are hooked up to the footswitch jack on the engl, and running through the GCX/GCP I get a major volume loss on the clean channel. If I unplug the cable from the footswitch jack, the volume goes back to normal. Also, if I use a regular footswitch ...

Re: GCX/GCP and Engl Savage 120

It wasn't working, but I took the manual and your forum responses up to my local shop and they helped clear things up.

Apparently I was a bit confused with exactly how the amp operated, but I now understand, and everything is working properly!

Thanks again for your help and your speedy responses!

Re: GCX/GCP and Engl Savage 120

All 8 loops are absolutely, positively set to "normal".

Re: GCX/GCP and Engl Savage 120

Well, my rig has been set up for quite some time and I am almost positive that it is set to normal. I was using the loops (1-6) for instant acces buttons for my pedals prior to switching over to this head. All I did was disconnect the pedals and connect the head. I will check to make sure it is not ...
