Re: GCX/GCP and Engl Savage 120

OK, I've tried this with both Mono and Stereo TRS cables and it is not working properly. It is switching channels, but when I hit button 1 on the GCP, it is switching back and forth between 2 channels each time I press it. It is not turning the single channel on/off. I thought that is what it would ...

GCX/GCP and Engl Savage 120

I'm purchasing a Engl Savage 120 soon, and was wondering if my GCX/GCP can control this amp, or is Engl specific to their footswitches?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Re: Hooking up a tuner without GCX loop?

I run my guitar into a Planet Waves Strobe Tuner, then out of that into the front of the GCX. The Planet Waves tuner mutes the rig while you tune.

Re: Adding sonic maximizer to rig

I run mine through the loop, I notice if you run it in front of the amp it doesn't sound as good.

Re: HUM!!!

I finally figured it out!!! It's the power supply that was causing the hum. I bought the unit used, so i didn't know it wasn't the proper power supply. I noticed my friends power supply was different, I tried his power supply in my GCX... SILENCE!!!! Many thanks to my extremely helpful new friend Ja...

Re: HUM!!!

OK, I just ran a noise gate in the post fx loop of the Tight Drive and got rid of the noise. I still have some hum though.

Re: HUM!!!

Thanks John, I have tried different cables, and all of the cables are brand new. I will try some of these other suggestions though. My rack consist of a power conditioner, underneath that is a BBE Sonic Maximizer 482I, underneath that is the GCX, Underneath that is a Digitech IPS 33, underneath that...

Re: HUM!!!

John, you said this on the previous thread: Connect your guitar directly to the In on GCX Loop 1 and your amp directly from the Out on GCX Loop 1. Maybe add one pedal to GCX Loop 1 and test with the loop on and off. Let us know what you find. I did try this, and there is still some hum, but it is mu...

HUM!!!

This thread was previously in "loop 1 not working", but I started a new one to make things a little bit easier. I'm still getting a loud hum from loop 1 of my GCX. When I turn the pedal itself that is in loop 1 off, it's a little better, but if I turn loop 1 off on the GCP, it goes away totally. All...

Re: Loop 1 not working in GCX

Well, it is definitely a ground issue with my pedals and the daisy chain. As I was continuing to experiment with different configurations, I accidently unplugged my Delay and the hum went away. I know I said I tried all of this stuff before, and I thought I did, but I must of had something connected...
