VOLTAGE DOUBLER in reverse???

Post by gloob » Mon Dec 03, 2018 7:36 am

Can I use the voltage doubler adapter cable backwards to power two nine-volt pedals from one 18-volt source? Thanks.

No, that will not work.

The voltage doubler adapter cannot be used "backwards" as such.

But it will work in reverse to give me two 9-volt outputs from a 9-volt source? Provided I have the right size plugs, etc. of course. That would get me there just as well.

No, not that way either. The voltage doubler will not work used "in reverse" to power two 9V pedals from a single 9V output.

Note, the Output Splitter Adapter, part# PPAV is often used to create two 9V outputs from a single 9V output.

Eureka! I finally have a solution to my problem. Thanks, Ben.

There is a thread from some forum (can't remember which) that suggests using your voltage adapter backwards to convert 18 into 9 x 2. Glad to have that issue all cleared up.
