9v to 18v Diamond BCP-1 requirements

Post by kevindahl » Mon Nov 25, 2019 12:33 pm

Hello, I have just ordered pedal 4x4 power supply. I plan on buying the Diamond Bass compressor. I would like to power it with 18V not 9V. This is from the manual:

For maximum headroom and performance, the Bass Comp should be powered using the included 18V, positive tip adapter. However, for a situation where the 18V adapter is unavailable,
the Bass Comp can be powered from a standard 9V, negative tip power supply provided the included red polarity reversing cable is used. The polarity reverse cable should not be used with
the supplied 18V adapter for normal operation.

I am a total noob when it come to this kind of stuff. I was planning on using a Y adapter from th 2 9V 100ma to the compressor. Is this correct? Do I need a reversing cable to make it positive. If it's too much of a hassle there are other comps out there. Thanks for reading.

To power the Diamond Bass Compressor at 18V, use a Voltage Doubler Adapter, part# PPAY in any two isolated 9V (100mA or 400mA) outputs with a 2.1mm Reverse Polarity Barrel Cable, part# PPREV, PPREV-R.

Cheers!
