Cable for Teese RMC3

Post by mh0520 » Fri Oct 05, 2018 12:52 pm

I have a Teese RMC3 pedal that I'm trying to power with my pedal power 2+. I want to use one of the right angle connectors to plug into the side of the wah but the connector does not fit securely into the jack. It seems like the plastic molding is preventing it from inserting completely into the jack; the straight connector seems to fit better but takes up space on the board.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Does anyone have any suggestions for an alternative cable to use?

Indeed, on rare occasions the right angle can interfere and thus not attach as well as the straight connectors.

I am not aware of any alternate right angled cable that would fit better (although certainly such a may exist), sorry.

Sometimes, in such cases, shaving-off or filing-off a bit of the plastic from the connector can improve its fit.

Another strategy that might help secure the cable is to (with the right angled connector attached) apply some hot-glue (or silicone) around the connection.

Or, perhaps instead power the RMC3 from its 9V battery connection with the Battery Snap / 2.1mm Cable.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, Ben!

That was my plan. I'm going to try shaving a little bit of the plastic molding to see if I can get it to fit and, if not, I was going to use the battery snap connection.

It seems like shaving off some of the plastic helped. Thanks for the advice. It was my plan but I was concerned that it was a stupid idea so I was glad to see that suggestion.
