Tremolo lost high end

Post by dwight » Fri Feb 26, 2010 9:03 am

I've had a VL Tremolo for about a year and have really enjoyed it. So much so that the other guitar player in my band picked up a used one off of ebay a couple weeks ago. When it first came it worked just fine.

Then about a week later, he flips it on, and it sounds really muffled and quiet. There's no high end to speak of, and its much quieter as a result. You can still hear the oscillations, though, and it responds to the speed and depth controls.

Luckily, I've got mine to compare it to point-for-point with an audio probe, but I wanted to at least ask if anyone else has seen this, or might know of a likely culprit? The multi-layer board makes it pretty tough to see whats going on in the circuit.

The most likely culprit is the switch. Have your friend send an email to info@voodoolab to discuss his repair options.
