Hi folks,
I've been scrolling through here looking for some info - did I not see it here.
I am a total noob to pedal boards (harmonica player), but as my needs for gear has increased, the bag-o-stuff I drag around has gotten silly.

I think I have a plan with a Pedaltrain Classic 2 with Voodoo Lab PP2+ for power. Looks like it's got all the pedals covered....but underneath next to the PP2, I was going to mount my Samson CR77 wireless receiver.
Here is where I'm a bit unclear.

It needs center positive (and I have already found mention of polarity reversing cables, so I think I've got that) 15V 160mA.
Is this possible on the PP2 - is there another model I should be looking at? The PP2 looks like the perfect fit otherwise.
I don't use wireless all the time, but when I do, I want it to be an easy get.
I see there is a "bonus" outlet on the back, but the power supply for the Samson is kind of oblong...

Anyway.....any help would be appreciated.

Mark

So now I see I can get a med Dingbat board with the PP2+ already installed....even easier!

Anyone know about my power dilemma?

Thanks,

Mark

On a Pedal Power 2+ you would use output 5 or 6 with the corresponding DIP switch set away from Normal.
On a 4x4 you would use either 12V/400mA output.

p.s. Are you sure your CR77 Receiver needs 15V and not 12V? Units I have seen have 12VDC printed on them right below the power jack.

Hi John,
Yea, that's right where I got the numbers...actually, you had me wondering so I went and checked again.
15V is written right where the adapter plugs in.

Sooo....would the outputs you mention still work? Or were they given with the assumption it was 12v?

Thanks for the help.

...........but to confuse me further - I just found the manual on line (I do not have a hard copy) and they refer to it as 12v, and the picture very clearly shows 12v written on the receiver(??)

Mine looks very clearly to be a "15".

IDK.

Heh! That is funny!

In every picture I find online of one of these receivers it is printed saying 12DC... and I too saw the same in the manual as well as any online spec lists.

I'm still going to go with that it will be perfectly fine to power as I suggested above.

I know that if it really does need 15V no harm will come from giving it 12V, so at the very least, you can feel free to test it out for us ;)

I'd bet that the difference would be a very slight change in the available headroom. Likely so slight that no human ear could perceive it, but might be able to be measured with a fairly expensive Audio Analyzer.

Plug it in and rock out, then let us know what you find!

Thank you John,

I went ahead and ordered the med. w/ PP2+ from my local GC a couple weeks ago.
Looks like on BO with a ship date of 4/6.

I think it will be a good fit. (and glad to see demand must be high on these, if they can't be stocked.)

I'm a patient man (and I built a temp pedal board (battery powered effects only, no Samson) out of a piece of plywood, a few zip ties, and a drawer pull to get me through till then 8-) )

Ouch!

I just got off the phone with GC and was told the Dingbat ordered on 3/13, and promised to ship by 4/6 will be backordered until the middle of May?

Any information on this? Is this normal?

Wow... sorry you're having this experience! Demand for these has certainly exceeded our initial estimates.

If you wouldn't mind, maybe you could send me a PM with any info on exactly where your order was placed? Perhaps I can see if there is something I can do to help things along.

Hey John,
Any chance you were able to figure out a way to shorten my purgatory?
