Control Switcher and Hughes & Kattner Duotone Head

Post by luccosta » Mon Mar 27, 2017 11:30 am

Greetings All.

I just bought a Hughes & Kattner Duotone Head from a friend last week.
Unfortunately it doesn't have a footswitch.
I tried get a origunal one from H&K but I couldn't get it.
A local shop here offered me a VL Control Switch to replace this missing foot.
My question is, how to connect it on my setup.
I have a TC Electronic G-System and a Nova Drive MID cable connected to it.
My goal here is connect Control Switch on Nova Drive in series.
In addition how to connect Control Switch to H&K Read since it has a DIN connector for footswitch.

All information will be helpful because I'm lost here.

Thank You.
Lucius

You would certainly want to get the Control Switcher into the MIDI path, but it will have to go ahead of the Nova Drive since it has only a MIDI In. So MIDI Out from the G-System to the MIDI In on Control Switcher. MIDI Out of the Control Switcher will go to the Nova Drive MIDI In.

For programming you will need to set the Control Switcher to respond to Program Changes and set it to the MIDI Channel you are sending from the G-System.

The connection to the amp will require a custom made cable.

I hope that helps!

Greetings John.
Thank you for you email and information.
Just an additional question. Do you have information about this custom cable?
the original footswitche is a XLR Male cable. I found on internet the schema from it´s cable, but I'm not sure
if it works.

Thank you.
