Hi guys,

This question has most likely been asked before here on the forum but I haven't been able to find the answer I was looking for.
I want to use 2 GCX's and switch independent loops with a Liquid Foot Pro, and the problem is of course the pre-set midi channel. I've heard there are some workarounds. Somebody said to me there is a sort of midi code to send to the GCX to change the CC's? Is this true? If so, what is this code and is this permanent?
Thnx for your help guys!

If you have the editor for your controller you should be able to enter the following SysEx string to tell the GCX units to operate independently.

F0 00 00 07 01 08 10 F7

This will make the GCX units identify themselves according to their position in the MIDI path. The GCXs will need this message whenever they are first powered up. They will not remember this setting after being powered down.

GCX #2 will respond to Control Change messages 88 - 95 (Latching) or 112 - 119 (Momentary) on MIDI Channel 16.

Alternatively, we have a replacement chip that forces a GCX to start up as GCX #2, #3, or #4 without requiring the SysEx message. Feel free to give us a call or write to info@voodoolab.com to get current pricing and availability on these chips if you would rather go that route.

I hope that helps!
