Bugera 1990 channel switching

Post by Nd272 » Thu Jul 11, 2019 1:52 pm

Hi

I know the topic of Bugera Amps and the way they are wired has been brought up before , I know they don’t usually follow the same process as normal amps

The 1990 model however seems to have a normal 1/4” input for channel switching utilizing the tip and ring (tip for channel switching and ring to reverb on/off)

Would that amp head be compatible with the gcx /gcp ?

Thanks guys

No problem at all to control this switching setup!

A GCX or a Control Switcher will need an Insert Point Cable to connect between the switcher and the amp. An Insert Point Cable has a TRS end that breaks out to two TS ends.

I hope that helps!

Thanks a mil for quick response

Would that be something like this https://www.amazon.com/Tisino-Stereo-Y- ... B07K59LPDJ

Also would my gcx only need use of one of the audio loops for this

Sorry I’m just not good with technicalities 😁

Just wanna make sure I have it right

That's the cable all right!

You would need two GCX Loops, one to control the Channel A/B and the other to turn the Reverb On/Off.

Let us know if you run into any troubles!

Thanks John 😀

Very much appreciate all the support

These amps are like less than 350€ , seems like a bit of a steal

The other amps for Bugera have that weird midi type input but it’s not midi and I know the issues with those foot switches can’t be so easily overcome

The 1990 is the only one I seen thus far that has what seems to be a fairly straightforward switching system
