Hi all, i'm new to the forum and am looking for tips on implementing a noise gate. Looking at the TC Electronics Sentry, and would like tips on hooking it up. Currently, all my loops are being used, but i can revise if you can offer some suggestions.

Signal chain is as follows:

Guitar in >GCX Audio Switcher powering a GCP
Loop 1: Earthquaker Tentacle
Loop 2: Wampler Ego Compressor
Loop 3: Strymon Mobius
Loop 4: Wampler Tumnus
Loop 5: Handmade clone of an amp eleven Lovepedal
Loop 6: Strymon Timeline (Routed to mesa boogie's effects loop)
Loop 7: Korg pitchblack tuner (using only the input of loop to enable silent tuning when engaged)
Loop 7 output to Mesa Boogie Lonestar Classic
Loop 8: amp channel switching

Pedals that seem to trigger noise are mainly the Ego, Tumnus and lovepedal clone, and tentacle when stacked into Tumnus. Where would be most logical placement of noise gate, and would using the gate's built in effects loop be logical to use here? How would any of you implement?

I would start off with all the front end effects routed thru the Sentry's loop. This way it triggers off your dry guitar but gates the signal just before the input of your amp.

1. GCX Guitar Out to Sentry Input.
2. Sentry Send to GCX Loop 1 In.
3. GCX Loop 5 Out to Sentry Return.
4. Sentry Out to GCX Loop 7 In.

I hope that helps!
