GCP Expression Pedal EP1-KP toe switch Kemper Amp

Post by master_o_s » Thu May 04, 2017 7:59 am

Hi everyone,

i am challenging with getting the toe switch on my EP1-KP expression pedal from mission engineering working.

Here is what i have done so far:
Out 1 of my pedal is connected to pedal 1 in on GCP with a stereo cable
Out 2 of my pedal is connected to pedal 2 in on GCP (tried both, mono & stereo cable)

On GCP both pedals are active.
In my preset i edited CC#1 for pedal 1. Kemper is working fine with it and using wah is no problem at all
For pedal 2 i tried many different things. I figured out, that the best thing would be to use the toe switch for activate / deactivate a stomp box. Therefore i was editing the CC#20 (stomp box D).
But nothing is working.

Is there someone out there who finally figured out how to configure the system in that way, that the toe switch will activate / deactivate the wah pedal?

I am really getting crazy!

That expression pedal is intended to connect directly to the Kemper. The treadle can work with the Ground Control Pro, as you have found, but the toe switch will not work. The switch in the EP1-KP is Momentary and wired to a TS (mono) jack. The Ground Control Pro requires a Latching switch wired to a TRS (stereo) jack.

The Mission SP-1, on the other hand, has the proper switch type to work with the Ground Control Pro.

I hope that helps!
