Re: Ground Control Pro - Gibberish Display
To anyone interested. I ended up taking the unit apart and gently pushed down on each of the chips. I was then able to reinitialize the memory. Now it works fine!

Ground Control Pro - Gibberish Display
Hi guys,
I seem to be having an issue with my GCP's display showing gibberish characters on all of my presets. None of the numbers for the preset line up either. What use to be patch one numbered 01 is now 09. Seems like complete randomness! It's like this through out all of the patches and banks. I have had the unit for a few years with no issues up until now. I should also note that all of the text in the setup menus are fine.
From searching around here I have tried the following:
Powered with no midi cables, only with included power supply = Same Random Gibber-Jabber
Tried saving a new preset and it ends up doing the same.
I have also tried reinitializing memory via Utility, but at the very last prompt after "***Warning***", When I select "Yes", it gets stuck at "Working.. 8k".
Can anyone help?? Thanks.

Re: Line 6 HD Pro, TC G Major 2, GCX, 4CM, Effects Loop Ques
My prefered signal path would be to use the Pod for front end effects and along with the GM2 for post preamp effects. But I would also love to hear a way to hook this up and use the pod as an alternate preamp path.

Line 6 HD Pro, TC G Major 2, GCX, 4CM, Effects Loop Question
Hi guys. I recently purchased a new Line 6 POD HD Pro to integrate with my current setup. This is guitar into GCX, which has front end effects from loops 1 to 4. I also have a G Major 2 in the loop of my Mark V, that doesn’t go through the GCX at the moment.
What I am looking to do is connect all devices including the POD HD Pro and Gmajor 2 to the GCX. How would I connect all this to the GCX using the HD Pro with the 4 cable method, while still using my GMajor 2 in the loop as well?

That works perfect! Thanks for clearing that up.

GCX, GCP, Two Amps, Effects Loops, One Gmajor-II Stereo
Hi,
I am looking to setup a stereo rig and was wondering if is it possible to connect two amps and the GM2 and run everything in stereo while everything is connected to the GCX. Or would I need a GCX modified to stereo to accomplish this? Or would it just be better to not have the GM2 in the GCX at all?

A good comparison that keeps the load on the pickups the same would be to switch between running your guitar to the Guitar In as you mentioned above vs connecting your guitar directly to your amp using the same cable leading from the guitar in both cases.
I can definetly hear the difference between Guitar in and Feed Thru. Guitar In sounds and feels better. But I most definetly hear a difference when plugged straight in. I can hear loss in bottom end "umpff" and what sounds like a little coloring of the tone, when i am plugged into the GCXs Guitar in. It still sounds good but different. Maybe I will need to re-EQ to get it back. Or maybe it is something I will have to get use to.
I have spent the last couple evenings getting use to the buffer

Hi guys,
I purhcased and brand new GCX yesterday. Is it normal to expereince a some what, change in tone when plugged in to a GCX? . My setup is as follows:
Guitar > Guitar In > Feed Through > Loop 1 > Loop 2 > Mark V Input
When plugging into the GCX it feels and sounds a little different than it does when I am plugged staight in to my amp. It's almost like I can hear circutry. Maybe it's just me. Anyone else expereince this?

What exactly is the Current Double Cable? I am looking to order one off of the Stompin Ground website for my Eventide Modfactor, but I am not sure what it is. I know it needs the 2.5mm barrel. There are to many options!
Is this it?

Re: Modded GCX
Actually I found my answer by digging a little deeper in the forum. Turns out with the loops internally wired, the GCX won't be able to be used for switching amp channels/features. Dayum!
