Re: Pairing PX-8 and large Dingbat board

routingiscool wrote: Mon Feb 01, 2021 11:00 am can you add the medium dingbat to the PX-8 after already having purchased the PX-8? Or does it somehow only come built together?
We do make the PX board available without the switcher, but it's not something that dealers normally stock. Please give us a call or write to info@voodoolab.com and we can get you what you need to order the right thing.

I hope that helps!

Re: Ground Control Pro -> PX-8+ No CC# MSGs

StringSinger wrote: Fri Jan 22, 2021 9:51 am It appears to me that the CC messages aren't making it to the pedals. Could the PX-8+ be filtering the CC Msg's out of or have I done something else wrong?
This part should be easy enough to test. What happens if you simplify the MIDI path to be just the Ground Control Pro MIDI Out directly to the MIDI In of one of the pedals you have set up to be controlled? Try each pedal connected this way one at a time to ensure the programming is sound, then start adding one pedal at a time to the MIDI chain to find when things start going wrong.
If you do find something is killing the messages, than the simple fix to at least get you down the road would be to place that device last in the MIDI path.

Oh and to answer the question... No, the PX-8+ should not be filtering out these messages.

Let us know what you find!

Re: GCX Audio Switcher compatible with OBEL

Really this setup isn't any different as far as effects switching goes... your Effects Send would go to the switcher, your effects would go into the loops of the switcher, then the Out of the Switcher would go to your Effects Return. The only complication is breaking out the TRS connection to be friendly with the TS (Mono) jacks that the Switcher, and likely all the pedals, have.

If you tell us you full signal path, I'm sure we could help a bit better to find exactly what would suit your needs.

I hope that helps!

Re: Multiple Audio Loopers controlled by one GCP

This can certainly be done, but the exact solution depends on the second switcher and its MIDI capabilities. For instance, with the DPC-8EZ I believe you would control that using presets only as it responds to MIDI Program Changes. This would be saving a combination of loops on the DPC-8EZ itself and recalling that saved combination from a Ground Control Pro Preset.

The Instant Access buttons are global, meaning their programmed function will remain the same across all presets. So if you program Instant Access button #1 to control GCX Loop 2, it will always control only GCX Loop 2.

I hope that helps!

Re: One segment of the display GCP less bright

The display on the Ground Control Pro is actually scrolling/flashing at a high enough frequency that the human eye doesn't necessarily catch but a camera might... are you sure that photo is showing a reality?

Alternatively, if it is actually happening then the problem is unlikely to be the display itself but something else within the circuit that is causing it. Do all the button LEDs work correctly?

Re: GCP midi values

If you mean the Control Change Data Value, then no... the Ground Control Pro will toggle the Data value as either 0 or 127.

What is the pedal you want to control?

Re: New PX8 Plus User Looping Questions

No apologies needed! Ask away!

1. Yes, you can run pedals in front of the PX-8+, no problem. Of course, any pedals not in PX-8+ loops will not be automatically switched when changing PX-8+ presets.

2. Also, yes. The Insert is between Loops 6 and 7, so anything in front of the PX-8+, and anything in Loops 1-6, will be present at the Insert Send.

3. True... the PX-8+ is a Mono only device.

Any Stereo effects you have would ideally be at the end of the signal chain and you would indeed want to keep the stereo wiring after the first stereo pedal.

I hope that helps!

You can give us a call or write to info@voodoolab.com to order a GCX #2 chip. This will force the GCX to respond to Control Change 88-95 on MIDI Channel 16.

I hope that helps!

Re: Finally adding a GCX....Gulp....

Sorry for the late reply!

In order to run the G-Force in parallel, you would need some sort of Mixer to combine the Wet and Dry signals. Do you have a line mixer for this?

It has been a while since I've touched a G-Force but it does have some settings for the Input gain in the I/O Setup menu that can cause issues if set incorrectly. You may want to check there to try to address the clipping issue.

Re: Gone through 3 PP2 units now and Output 8 doesn't work on any of them

That is definitely not normal!

I’ll be sending you an email get that unit in for inspection and get a thoroughly tested unit back to you as quickly as possible.

Alternatively, I completely understand if you just want to be done with it any go back to MF.

Sorry you’ve had so much trouble with this.
