Re: Selectable buffer on GCX?

That's what I was looking for. Thanks John.

Re: Selectable buffer on GCX?

Both of those would work.

Related question: the normaling of the jacks, they're switched at the front? That is, the rear jacks are in parallel until something gets plugged it the front "feed though"? I'd like to feed the buffer from the rear...output of loop 1 (fuzz) to the rear feedthrough, jumper from front feed through to buffer in, output of buffer to input of loop 2?

Selectable buffer on GCX?

Is there a way to patch the buffer into loop 1 so I can take it out of circuit when I use my fuzz?

Re: Control Switcher with GCX loops ?

It sounds like you have an abundance of things to control, you just need a better way to control them. There are a lot of things to consider in upgrading your controller. A small foot print is nice, but the flexibility to get what you need done is very important. (And you don't need to necessarily choose one over the other.) If you can work off of presets/PC messages, you have a lot of choices. If you want to have IA buttons for all the GCX loops, the Channel switching and turn on and off various blocks in the G-Major with CC messages, you're probably looking at something a little bigg. (Although there are some smaller controllers that you can hit a function switch and turn the whole board into IA switches and then switch back to a mix of presets and IA's

Re: second Midi pedal for IAs

I think you can run the MIDI mate into the GCP and pass the CC messages on to other devices. You didn't say what else you were controlling. If you're controlling a GCX, I'd not sure what will happen if it can get the SYS Ex messages from the GCP and the CC messages from the MIDI mate. What are you controlling?

Re: GCX not powering the GCP

Be sure that the cables have all five pins connected. Also (especially if you aquired the GCP used) be sure that the DIN Jack on the GCP is clean. (Power it down and give it a blast of contact cleaner.)

Re: GCX engaging presets on multiple devices (one stomp)

If you want to conservce loops in the GCX (and simplify the wiring) you can wire the Strymon between the Output of the GCX and the input of the amp, or directly in the effects loop of the amp and program a preset in the Strymon with all dry signal. When you send the PC message and change to the "dry" preset, it's "almost as good as" direct bypass, as Strymon has an all analog dry signal path. (I do that with a Big Sky and it works great)

Re: Multiple Amp Switching GCX

What you want to do is dead simple, and the best part is you can do it with a single GCX Loop.

Check out Example 2 on Page 8 of the GCX Manual. This is the easiest way to make your front end connections, and all you'll need to do is split the signals coming out of Send and Out jacks to feed the inputs of your amplifiers. When the loop is turned OFF, the Out jack will feed one pair of amps; turn the loop ON and the Send Jack will feed the other pair of amps.
What he said, with two loops if you're going to run the amps in stereo.

Re: Multiple Amp Switching GCX

Simple enough. Are you running the amp pairs in stereo or mono?

Re: second Midi pedal for IAs

I'll be curious to hear if you can make it work. You won't be able to send the CC messages from the ia's withe the presets. You would probably be better off with a single more sophisticated controller.
