I previously installed the beta 2 chip in a second GCP I had, and having all the buttons available for IA was awesome. As such, I was wondering with the expanded use of the axe-fx III, if there were any plans to create an updated chip that could handle that unit's "scene" selection capabilities, while also retaining the ability to select presets. I.e. Using the top 8 buttons for scene selection, while using the bottom 4 for preset selection.
I'm aware of this thread over on the fractal forum https://forum.fractalaudio.com/threads/ ... nes.94071/, but it seems as if you'd still be limited to either the 10 or 4 presets per bank config. I'd love the layout ability of having 8 scene selection buttons up top, with 4 preset select buttons on the bottom row. Or am I completely misunderstanding that thread, and what I'm looking for is already possible?
Thanks!

Re: GCP Sending CC messages and Values
Thanks John. That helps. I wasn’t aware that something like the Midi Solutions Event Processor http://www.midisolutions.com/prodevp.htm existed. Sweet.

Re: GCP Sending CC messages and Values
Looks like I should’ve performed a search first... my apologies. I’m guessing this is the answer?

GCP Sending CC messages and Values
<t>I know that is you setup an expression pedal that it can be setup to send a message via a specific cc message and then the expression pedal itself will transmit a cc value from 0-127 (depending on configuration/setup) - thereby using an expressing pedal takes advantage of both a cc # and cc value.

My questions specifically relates to xmitting a single cc message via an instant access button. Can an IA button be configured to also send a VALUE along with the cc message, or is it limited to sending only an on/off (0/127) “value” with the cc message?

I ask because I’m thinking of adding my podxt pro back into my rack. I know that I can program the GCP to switch effects on and off, but the Line 6 MIDI specs also allow for the changing of an effect by transmitting a value along with the cc message (for example, so that I could change a Line 6 delay from “analog delay” to “stereo delay” without needed to switch to a different preprogrammed patch)

Thanks
Re: Newest firmware
John - thanks!
I was able to pick up a second GCP and install the v2beta chip. so now I have 2 GCPs: GCP1 (v1.13) 4 Presets/bank and GCP2 (v2beta) all IA. I have two follow-up questions.
First, is there a replacement I can get for the led screen (the green led screen at the top of the unit)? on the new one I bought (GCP2) there are a few led segments that stay lit and sometimes interfere with being able to read some of the programming (e.g. sometimes a "4" looks like "6"). Not a huge problem as long as I pay attention, but mildly annoying...
Second - re: MIDI path and programming. I have the MIDI path as follows: GCP1 MIDI out> GCP2 Midi in. GCP2 MIDI out > GCX. GCP2 being phantom powered and GCP1 being powered via the wal-wart. I was trying to program last night patches on the GCP1 enabling certain IA switches on GCP2, but no IA switches on the GCP2 would save. I tried it with neither GCP being linked, as well as GCP1 as Link Master and GCP2 as Link Slave. Am I doing something wrong, or is it that you can only program the IA buttons on the Master unit and the All IA unit is just IA, with no programming?
Thanks again for your help.
Tom
EDIT:
I just occurred to me (may be obvious, but every now and then MIDI still scrambles my brain), even though the 2 GCPs are linked (via MIDI cable, not necessarily in linked mode), the All IA GCP still needs to be programmed/setup to indicate that GCX 1 is enabled and the other MIDI devices (and respective channels) down-chain still need to be programmed/identified within the All IA GCP - i.e., that information isn't passed through from GCP1 (4 preset/bank), correct? This may not solve my patch programming issue, but would be necessary in order for GCP2 (All IA) to effectively control either the GCX loops and/or MIDI device CC on/off messages, right?

Newest firmware
John - what is the newest firmware version (including beta, if applicable)? I’m not at home at the moment so I can’t verify what I’m on, but I can say it would likely be whatever version was shipped with the GCP approx 10 or so years ago.
What I’m really looking for is a way to assign imstant access functionality to one or two of the bottom row switches when in 4 presets/bank mode (I only really need two presets, and could use the extra two IA switches).
Thanks.

Re: GCP Beta firmware!!
Are you saying that’s with the beta firmware you can have 12 instant access buttons on a GCP?
I’ve been wishing that I could add IA functionality to one or more of my preset buttons in 4 presets/bank mode since I only need two presets.
Where/how did you get this beta firmware?
