VERTEX - Country/Rock Pedalboard

Here's a pedalboard that I did for my good friend Dana Olsen. Dana plays in a few bands, among them a fantastic Cowboy Country band (Danny Montana & The Bar Association) out of Fairfax, California.

Dana was looking for something that he could use for his country stuff, but could also be used for some of the cover bands and other gigs that he gets.

INTERFACE

I outfitted Dana with a Vertex Tri-Buffer, a standard input buffer with two output buffers for both LEFT and RIGHT amps when running the system in STEREO. The RIGHT output is transformer isolated to prevent any ground loops and also has a polarity switch to ensure that both LEFT and RIGHT amplifiers have the proper polarity.

POWER SUPPLY

Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+

SIGNAL PATH

Interface (input buffer), Vertex Axis Wah, BJFE Pine Green Compressor, BJFE Dyna Red Distortion, Fulltone Fulldrive 2, Boss FV-500L Volume Pedal, Maxon AD-900 Delay, T-Rex Replica Delay, Rockett Josh Smith Dual Tremolo, Retro-Sonic Stereo Chorus, Interface (dual output buffer for both L and R amps w/ISO transformer).

VERTEX - Landau/Ford Inspired Pedalboard

Here's a Michael Landau/Robben Ford inspired pedalboard that I built for a client back in Florida.

INTERFACE

The interface houses a Vertex Tri-Buffer with a single input buffer and dual output buffers for both the left and right outputs to use in stereo. There is an isolation transformer used on the right output to prevent grounding issues while running multiple amplifiers. Also, there is a polarity switch located on the rear of the interface to maximize the sound of a two amplifiers set-up. The rig can be used in both MONO or STEREO.

VERTEX - 12" x 24" Expandable Monster Pedalboard

VERTEX - 12" x 24" Expandable Monster Pedalboard

Here's a pedalboard that I did for my good friend Ken Vople of Ultra Sound Amp Sales in New York.

Ken wanted a board that he could use for an upcoming Gospel record that he's recording and for some other projects. The intention of the board was to make an extremely compact pedalboard, with maximum expandability (it can network up to 4 amplifiers and an infinite number of effects through the effects break-out) . The dimensions of the pedalboard are 12" (deep) x 24" (wide).

INTERFACE

Vertex Tri-Buffer (one input buffer, three output buffers), Dry Output (splits the signal off of the guitar input buffer and sends to a amplifier without any effects for tracking purposes, specifically for mixing a dry amp back into a recording to add texture and depth to a guitar track), Effects Break-Out (separate send/return to insert a volume pedal, when desired, after the distortion pedals and before the modulation and time-based pedals), and Stereo Outputs (output buffers on both left and right outputs with an isolation transformer on the right output to prevent grounding issues and a polarity switch for optimum performance when using a stereo set up).

POWER SUPPLY

Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+

SIGNAL PATH

Interface (input buffer + split dry output), Kingsley Minstrel, Vertex Plexitone, T.C. Polytune, Interface (break out send/return to volume pedal), Vertex Landau Mod Arion Chrous (stereo), Strymon Timeline (stereo with expression pedal and MIDI Controller), Neunaber Stereo WET Reverb (stereo), Interface (dual output buffers on left and right outputs with ISO transformer and polarity switch)

*MIDI Controller is from Disaster Area
*EXP is from Pigtronix

VERTEX - Pedalboard (Mr. Big, Eric Martin Content)

This is a board that I did for guitarist, Mark Holley.

Mark is touring with Mr. Big (Eric Martin) and wanted a board that he could use for the tour as well as is other projects.

Enjoy it Mark!

INTERFACE

Vertex Tri-Buffer (input buffer, two output buffers), Effects Break-Out (to insert effects off of the pedalboard, but in the middle of the signal path between the distortion/overdrive pedals and the modulation pedals), and a Reverb Pass-Through to switch the amp reverb on/off from a footpedal on the pedalboard.

POWER SUPPLY

Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+

ORDER OF EFFECTS

Crybaby Classic Wah, MJM Britbender, Lovepedal Tchula, Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe, INTERFACE (input buffer), Menatone Top Boost In A Can, Vertex Plexitone, INTERFACE (effects break-out), Strymon Lex, Empress Tremolo, Empress Vintage Modified Superdelay, /13 Switchazel (A/B + Boost), INTERFACE (dual output buffers for amplifiers A and B)

*Reverb footpedal feeds trough the interface and switches the amp reverb on/off for a Divided by 13 amp that is part of the A/B set-up.

*Boss TU-12 tuner is run out of the Switchazel.

VERTEX - Tom Bukovac Pedalboard

Here’s a pedalboard that we did for Nashville session guitarist, Tom Bukovac.

Tom wanted us to make him another board similar to what we made for him in Spring 2011 (http://www.voodoolab.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2554), so that he could leave one in cartage and have the other one handy for different sessions around town:

INTERFACE:

Passive input (no input buffer), Effects Break-Out (allows for external pedals to be patched into the pedalboard after the distortion pedals, but before the modulation and time-based pedals), Stereo Outputs (allows for two amplifiers to be run through the rig simultaneously, and includes an isolation transformer on one output, dual output buffers on both outputs, plus a polarity switch to ensure that both amps in stereo are functioning optimally), and a master bypass switch (allows for bypassing the entire rig and goes directly to the amplifier(s) in either mono or stereo).

POWER SUPPLIES:

Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+
Voodoo Lab Pedal Power Digital

ORDER OF PEDALS:

INTERFACE (passive w/ master bypass), Electro-Harmonix POG 2, Boss V-Wah, Xotic RC Booster, Way Huge Green Rhino, ZVex Box of Rock (re-housed), Nobels ODR-1 (re-housed), Analogman King of Tone, Way Huge Pork Loin, Vertex GE-7 Equalizer, INTERFACE (effects break-out), Peterson Strobo-Stomp Tuner, Neo Instruments Ventilator, Boss VB-2 Vibrato, Keeley TR-2 Tremolo, Dunlop Volume Pedal (Vertex modified), Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man (Vertex modified/calibrated), Strymon Brigadier (stereo), Vertex EXH Stereo Memory Man w/ Hazarai (stereo), INTERFACE (stereo outputs with ISO transformer and dual output buffers)

VERTEX - Jacob Petersen Pedalboard (Steve Miller Band)

Here's a pedalboard that I did for Jacob Petersen, guitar player for the Steve Miller Band.

http://www.stevemillerband.com

Jacob wanted something that he could use on his solo projects, but could double for things that he could use on tour with Steve Miller and in the studio. Jacob requested that the rig be built out from a custom TheGigRig PRO 8 with an insert between loop 5 and 6 to for a volume pedal to be always active in the signal path no matter how the presets in the PRO 8 were arranged.

Jacob is using various Stratocaster and Telecaster guitars going into Red Plate Amplifiers.

INTERFACE

Standard Vertex Dual Buffer (input buffer and output buffer)

POWER SUPPLY

Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+ (with extension cord running out of courtesy outlet for the power supplies with the Hilton Volume Pedal and TheGigRig PRO-8).

ORDER OF PEDALS

INTERFACE (Vertex Input Buffer), TREX Octavius, TheGigRig PRO 8:

Loop 1 - AYA Compressor
Loop 2 - Wampler SLOstortion
Loop 3 - Wampler Plexi Drive
Loop 4 - Creation Audio Labs MK 4.23 Boost

VERTEX - "Everthing but the Kitchen Sink" Pedalboard

Here is a pedalboard that I did for one of our fine men serving the United States Military overseas.

The client wanted a pedalboard that incorporated all of the pedals that he had been collecting over the years and make everything useable together once he returns to the United States when his service is complete (any day now apparently).

It's got some pretty cool and hard to get pedals on it (KOT, Sun Lion, Aqua Vibe, etc.). It's got some great boutique gear here, but DAMN - this MONSTER sounds awesome!!!

INTERFACE:

Passive Input for Fuzz, Input Buffer Insert (following Fuzz), Dual Output Buffers (for A/B or Stereo Out at the end of the chain), EXP pass-through to use the EXP function out of the Boomerang by plugging into the interface and keeping the pedal off-board.

POWER SUPPLY:

2 x Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+ (not all of the taps are used on the second PS, it is modified internally to give more current to the Aqua Vibe - 300mA)

ORDER OF PEDALS:

INTERFACE (passive input), FoxRox Octron 2, FoxRox Aqua Vibe, Analogman Sun Lion, MXR Script Phase 90 RI (modded by Analogman), INTERFACE (input buffer), RMC Picture Wah, Wampler Ego Compressor, TIM, Analogman KOT, Fulltone OCD, Xotic RC Booster, Analogman Mini Chorus, Strymon Flanger, Maxon AD-999 Analog Delay, Skreddy Echo, Diamond Tremolo, Dr. Scientist Radical Red Reverberator, Boomerang Loop Sampler (with EXP to the interface), Lehle Little Dual A/B/Y Switcher, INTERFACE (dual output buffers to amps)
