Not a big deal, but I was wondering if someone can tell me why some of my pedals come up in the active (on) position and others do not, when I power up with the PP2+.
thanks
PP2+ powering up question
Re: PP2+ powering up question
That is just the way some pedals are wired up. This can be modified by a good pedal tech like Analogman Mike or Keeley or if you're in New Zealand yours truly!

Thanks. It is just kind of weird that it happens for some but not others even within a given brand. I have four Boss pedals and two go active and two do not. You'd think that there would be some consistency in wiring.

That is true, old Boss powered up off (bypass) and new ones are on. A Boss expert could tell us when they started this change. When using pedals with a switching system, if they come up in bypass you need to switch them every time you power up the rig. I always assumed that was why they made the change, but it's just a guess and could be completely wrong. Here's another guess: since people often forget that they can be "on" even when the LED is off, this reminds you that the battery is draining as soon as you plug it in.bggrit wrote:Thanks. I'm making this up, of course. If anyone knows the real answer, please post!
